Booking A Myrtle Beach Hotel Stay? Three Different Ways To Enjoy This Sun-Washed, Entertaining Locale

Flenn Austin

If you're planning on spending time in Myrtle Beach, you certainly won't be bored. Many entertainment options, both on land and in the water, are available within easy reach of the area's hotels and resorts such as http://www.myrtlebeachresorts.com/. The biggest draw is the beach itself. As you wander along the edge of the powdered sand, warm, frothy turquoise waves nip at your ankles. Yes, sometimes it is hard to peel yourself away from all that natural beauty. But, look what else is waiting for you.

Landlubber's Myrtle Beach Fun

You could find a spot on the sand and just relax with a good book. Or, you could venture inland a block or two to see what lies beyond that beach towel. A great place to start is the local boardwalk and promenade. This walkway leads past oceanfront hotels, resorts and short term rental apartments. You'll find rides at the nearby amusement park and strange mysteries at one of the world`s most intriguing museums.

Walk another couple of blocks and you're at one of the most unusual mini-golf courses in Florida. Test your skill as you putt around a course surrounded by a primeval forest and out-of-this-world sculptures. If you prefer regular golf, one championship course is only a few blocks south of the beach. Another more challenging course is a few blocks farther inland.

A nearby shopping mall, about two blocks away, lets you indulge in first-run movies, shop until you drop and indulge in your chocolate cravings at nearby cookie and candy shops. All of this fun is within walking distance of many Myrtle Beach hotels.

Water Worshiper's Myrtle Beach

If you prefer the water, Myrtle Beach aims to please. Swim, surf or snorkel in the warm Atlantic Ocean waters. Or, mix water with high-octane excitement at the beachfront water park. The water slides and the giant wave pool are bound to get your adrenaline pumping. For a quieter experience, take a slow-moving raft ride, then rent a private cabana to catch a bit of sun.

Interested in more ocean oriented sports? Various companies rent jet skis that you pilot through the surf. Or, take a banana boat ride. These giant inflatable boats do look like bananas, and many are appropriately colored screaming yellow. Riding a banana boat takes little skill, just climb aboard and hang on while the boat lunges through the waves. There's also parasailing. A speed boat pulls you through the water until you are airborne. Enjoy looking at the Myrtle Beach skyline between your toes until the boat slows down and you touch down in the water. Parasailing may look intimidating, but after that first ride it can get addicting.

Myrtle Beach After Dark

When the sun goes down in Myrtle Beach, things start getting even more interesting. A waterfront entertainment center is home to a well known cafe famous for its pulse pounding music and celebrity-driven décor. Caribbean-style eateries fronting the Atlantic Ocean put a more tropical spin on the dining experience.

Love to indulge in Mexican food and drink? A local taqueria and bar becomes an adult venue after dark, serving food and drink in a slightly hedonistic atmosphere. Dance to reggae music, join a conga line or indulge in potent jell-o shots. Live bands and DJs are offered, depending on the night. This place caters to a younger crowd and can get a bit rowdy.

If you prefer a quiet, romantic dinner for two, head to the restaurants at a nearby pier that`s been an oceanfront landmark for decades.. Dine inside or al fresco on fresh seafood, beef, pasta and divine deserts. California and Australian wines are both available. The best part is, you're only a lazy stroll or a cab ride away from your hotel.

About Me
Planning Your Honeymoon

When I got married, I failed miserably at planning my honeymoon. For some unknown reason, I thought a 3 day trip to a beach followed by a 3 day trip to the mountains was a good idea. During the middle of our honeymoon, my husband and I had to travel approximately 6 hours from our first destination to our second one. To make matters worse, our car broke down during this long commute. If you’re currently planning your honeymoon, consider booking an extended stay at one unforgettable resort retreat. In doing so, you will simplify your trip and have more time to spend with each other. On this blog, you will discover honeymoon planning tips.
